Canadian technologist and artisan currently based in Montréal. He creates visual and sound works, installations, and sometimes performances. He repurposes musical instrument components to benefit from their discrete function, and open up opportunities to create visual arts or sound art, acoustic or amplified. He focuses on the value of craftsmanship, almost as a modernist reaction to contemporary creative technological fields.
Janson Blanchet graduated from Concordia University (BFA, major in Intermedia, minor in Computation Arts) with honours. He is currently exploring the psychology of interaction and user experience to grasp the spectrum of possibilities ranging from the creation of utilitarian commercial interactions to absurd interactions.
